Hello, I am Emma
Project manager. Parent. An expat residing in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the long-term plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks often felt more complex than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines fell into place. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Zorla Vimu Nekel
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourist material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family point of view.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism-board resource
- Not a sponsored-review platform
- Not just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Switzerland goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains helpful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Emma
